The final trail race.. wait, did everyone spring forward?? cause I FORGOT !! and was driving at an unmentionable speed to make it to the race on time. My dad came out to support me which was a special treat. He works 1,000 hours a week, (ok, maybe 50) and barely has time to rest, so we don't see each other often. In fact this was the first race he's been to since I was young. I hated hearing him say, "It's the first time I've watched you cross the finish line in other place than 1st". I had to remind him, "that was when I was 10 and it was ONE mile". Can you say PRIDE? I finished 1st in my age group, and 4th overall, which is ok with me. 6.2 miles of trail, hills, MUD, and two gigantic hills at the very end (whose idea was that??) I enjoyed the view in most places of the trail. The next series of trail races begin again the fall. It's the same three places, and it'll be the 2nd year. I may go for it again. What's 3 races out of the whole year? Besides, this gives me plenty of time make a come back against all those young spring chickens that glided through the trail with ease and were laughing and smiling at the end...I'm not bitter.
And the rest of my support team that met me at the finish line. I can honestly say this was the best part!

congrats on doing so well on all three trail runs. im so impressed and energized by you to get out and run; that is after this baby is born in july because he has made me sick since november(not complaining just a fact). good job and good luck in nationals(arent you going out to oregan or something)

Congrats SIS! You make me want to go run or something...not really, but I do LOVE hearing you recount the run...it does SOUND fun!!! Nationals...WOW! You always go BIG!...that is one of the things that I love about you! Great to see David!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!
